Get to read my craft and getting rid of some crap

Get a glimpse of my current beauty related stuff plus how it helps me to get over some sort of sadness, boredness or stress. No need to splurge! Seriously, you just have to simply do what you like whenever you feel sad. Do what makes you happy! Do what interests you most when you are bored. And avoid stressing yourself over simple matters.

Warning: This post is actually kinda random lol!

  1. Painting nail arts

Are you the type of a person that needs to walk in a salon in order for your nails to be done? Or you prefer to do it on your own? I am the latter type. For some reasons I enjoy spending time, no matter how busy I am, on doing my own nails. Just like how I feel whenever I play with my makeup or type here on my blog (exactly what I am doing right now haha). I always find pleasure in arts and beauty!
Do more what makes thy happy! :)

San San Nail Polish in Touch of Tan

Tan nail polishes look chic and sophisticated.
Finding the right hue is the trick.
Why not have a try with this affordable San San nails polish you can find in HBC local stores?

Keep the first layer thin, if it doesn't seem to work with your skin tone, add another layer or more until you get the color that suits your taste. Remember to keep every layer thin.

I like the formula of this nail polish, the color pay-off is good and not streaky
in comparison to my Revlon and Essie
The nail polish contains 12ml. That's a lot than other local nail polish brand.
Definitely a great buy for the price of PHP 37.00 only.

And oh btw, the color is TAN indeed .
This actually reminds me of my previous nail polish painted on my toes HERE,
I totally forgot the name haha sorry that was way back 2011.
Muh-gawd, lookin' into my old nail pics makes me miss havin' long nails.
One of the disadvantage of my current profession-limitations to kikayness LOL.

Overall at this point, I like how it looks on my nails.
Will try to update you on it's performance at the end of this week or so.
Whatcha think? Hmm...

Have you tried any of the San San's nail polish too?
What's your pick?

Thanks for reading my post.
Happy Mani-Monday lovelies!
Take care:)

Get into that NAKED TRUTH: The Perfect NUDE NAIL POLISH

Hi everyone! (*^▽^*)

This is just gonna be a quick post of my current favorite nail polish. It's what I've been wearing a lot lately.
It looks clean, polished and goes with everything!
You might already know that I love neutrals on my eye makeup look----They are my comfort zone.
And lately I've been enjoying nudes and taupes on my nails too!
Errrrr...Is this a sign of aging or what? (>_<)>
Don't get me wrong. I still love to wear red (I mean real classic red), even bright pinks, blues and purple.
But I do have to consider my profession. And oh, they also do have to consider me LOL!( ̄ー ̄)
Knowing how "kikay/girly" I am right?
I used to have that long squared tip nails huhu! (Now miss it as I'm typing this post!)
Anyway, I still found a "tame color" to paint my nails on---Well actually a perfect nude nail color...
And I've been hooked on it! TADAAAA! (*°∀°)=3

Essie in Naked Truth
I got my Essie nail polish HERE.
Great nude! In my skin tone it appears not too pink-not too peach-not too beige.
Perfect neutral! Just right smack dab in the middle of every nude tone.
Compliments my skin color and very elegant looking.
It's a little bit on the sheer side. I get a good coverage with two coats and there's no visible streaking.Chips after a matter of one weeks or so.
Nonetheless, this one is a keeper!
True to it's name---NAKED TRUTH ! (^_^)

And that ends my short but sweet post.
Have you tried this nail polish?
What nail color do you prefer?

Thanks for reading!
Take care!

Nails of the week!

Hello! {~~,}

Remember when I started a series called Nails of the Week?
I guess my last post for that was last April.
Aw, I can't believe June is almost over! (But I love it when time flies fast than boring haha!)
Within that span of time, I have only used my favorite "Perfect NUDE" which is
My schedule now isn't as tight as before so I get to enjoy life and pamper myself.
Wee look at my nails! All glammed up! :)

Just applied a good base coat, a layer of Essie Naked truth and top it off with JOCARSTE NAILPOLISH.
And there you go, an easy and simple glittery nails!

What's your nail color this week?
Share it! :)

Electric Nails: Trying out something new!

Hello lovelies!
My apologies for bombarding you lately with a lot of nail-related posts.
I'm afraid I will not be able to do this when my hospital training starts which is on the 10th of this month.
So yeah...I'll enjoy my square nails first before I trim them (huhu).

Photos taken without flash:

Photo taken with flash:

I'm currently practicing on NAIL ART STAMPING and I'm trying to figure out which color would suit best for this summer season. Upon stumbling into my nail polishes, one lacquer  instantly caught my attention...

I'm not a fan of yellow nail polishes...BEFORE!
For some reasons to me it looked too bright or I feel that it would not be flattering on my hands and as if  I have jaundice LOL!

But all of that was BEFORE I gotta try out this Revlon Top Speed in Electric.

I was also inspired by Christine of xteeener, one of my fave beauty guru in YouTube on trying out this yellow nail polishes. I saw a video of her long months ago having her nails painted on yellow (which I forgot what was that particular brand) but nonetheless it looked good on her. And oh btw, I didn't bought this mind you, click HERE for the rest of the story. And in addition, as far as I know, yellow was the Imperial color of Ancient China. They also have a Chinese saying, that yellow generates Yin and Yang, implying that the color is the center of everything. (Oha oha! saaaaaaay my dear it's a lucky color pala! Kala mo pang hepatitis lang noh?! *wrong buzz sound*)

Apparently I had no reasons why not give this baby a try. I'm looking for a summer-ish nail color and yellow is a perfect color (IMO) to paint on.

Based on my experience:
-This was way definitely more opaque than the Revlon Sheer Cotton, texture is more creamy than liquidy
-It's a warm yellow with subtle shimmers (which are less likely to be seen on nails than on the bottle)
- This was a little streaky so I used more or less 3 coats to have an even and full coverage
-I find this particular yellow polish wearable and not as a shocking as what I initially though it would be
-Dries quickly but in a workable way
-Don't know yet if it chips easily or what but for sure I'm gonna update you regarding on that matter.
-Make sure to use a good base coat for this color and a decent top coat to finish off the look

Over all, my first yellow nail polish was quite good. My initial perception with the notorious yellow nail paints were gone. I gladly tried to add more to this color by adding a green nail art floral design and here's what I came up with...

Does yellow nail polish suits my hand or what? O.o

Have you tried painting your nails with yellow?

Let me know your thoughts. I'd be glad to know them!

Jannah

Nail Art Stamping: First Time!

Hello lovelies!

This early morning, I picked up a package at the post office from kkcenterhk containing this Nail Art Stamping Tools. Keeping my fingers crossed while I'm on my way there hoping they're still open (since it's Holy Week). I was lucky enough that they're half day today yey! So glad I decided to drop by in the morning! I have never used this nail tool so you can tell that I was pretty much excited to give this a shot!

Lemme show you how was my first time trying this out.

So here's what I got inside the package...

N.NAIL Scraper And Stamp Set [JR1055]
N.NAIL Stamping Image Stamp Template Plate SPPMB42
The nail art tools on their packages

Based on my experience...

Other things that I needed are as follows:

*nail polish remover
*cotton pads/balls for cleaning the plate
*tweezers to pick up the cotton pads with nail polish remover (aka acetone)
*cotton buds for cleaning the scraper and the excess marks of paint on the stamp precisely
* sturdy and flat table
*extra paper for sample stamping (in my case LOL)
*an opaque & easy drying nail polish of choice

Here's how:

1. Do not forget to remove the plastic on the stamp plate!
(You might not notice that there's plastic over it since it's not very obvious BUT it's really important to remove it otherwise you'll not be able to use the nail stamping plate well.

2. Make sure that every time you use the plate, it's dry. Paint over the design of choice.

3. Scrape the excess polish gently preferably with an acute angle (based on my experience).
Make sure to scrape with the correct side of scraper facing you.

4.Stamp on the design.

5. Now stamp it on your nail.
Try to work fast before your nail polish gets dry on the process!
Clean the plate every after each stamp, which is why you needed the nail polish remover and cotton pads and tweezers.

As mentioned above, I just got this early in the morning of the same day that I'm making this post.
Hence, this are my initial thoughts and techniques used.
If  in any case that I will be able to find an easier way to use this stamping method then I'll definitely update you. :)

Here are the images from
N.NAIL Stamping Image Stamp Template Plate SPPMB42

After trying all the images available on the plate,
I decided to have this nail art for the mean time.
Please excuse the mistakes as I am no professional on this.

Will try to do more deigns and practice more on this nail art stamping tool.

Overall, I am so happy with my first Nail Art Stamping experience!

Where to purchase? KKCENTERHK
More Nail Image Stamp Template Plates available.
Thanks!

NUDE NAILS: Revlon Top Speed in Sheer Cotton

Looking for a perfect nude nail polish for ages?
Need a classic-looking pale nails?
Tryin' to stay away from bright color this season?

If YES, then prolly you might like this Revlon Top Speed in Sheer Cotton!
It's an off white, pearlized light pinkish nude, just perfect (natural looking) nude in my opinion.

*with flash*

WHAT ARE MY FAVORITE NAIL ART COLORS: RED & NUDE
See my very first nail art post HERE.

*Product Review*
Revlon Top Speed in Sheer Cotton

Pros:
-Dries fast (not in the annoying way that you couldn't work with it)
- 3 big toxic chemicals (Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP), Formaldehyde and Toluene) free
-Color is very unique, I've been searching for this in ages! 'coz the nudes I tried before was tad darker than this
-Available locally

Cons:
-More watery or liquid-y in formula
-It's extremely sheer as you can tell by the photo below. Achieved a decent opaque color after 3 layers in my experience.
First coat
Kindly excuse the tapes along the side. That's the technique I used for this type of formula. I find the formula different from the other Revlon Top Speed that I've tried. It's quite messy to work with layers specially if you're little clumsy like I am LOL.

FINAL RESULT:
Tadddaaaa!

Final Verdict:
I initially thought this formula isn't gonna work for me but hey!
I didn't give up! Yeah yeah! Loving my nude nails now.

Recommended for those:
-Into classic, professional looking pale polishes.
-Who are willing to bear with the extreme watery sheer formula. Haha!

Let me know if you liked it or you have any recommendations.
I highly appreciate your thoughts and input.

It's good to have clean and beautiful face, hand and body but it's always better to maintain the purity of our soul.

Thank you so much for reading my post!
Have a great day!

Jannah

Nail Polish of the Week

Hi lovelies!

Let me share with you a quick post of my nails of the week with a touch of fun tangerine color.

Where did I got this BK cracking nail polish?
See my post HERE.

Sorry if I can't detail everything about this nail polish cause honestly it's my first time to try this.

Based on my experience, it's easy to apply. The formula is more liquid-y yet pigmented. I achieved a nice pigmented color with just one coat. The brush also works well, it's quite thin and spreads the polish conveniently.

I used first a matte white polish after my base coat, let everything dry then applied this polish over. After like a minute or two, it started to crack. This is by far the easiest nail art I've done. Just apply a good top coat to prevent chipping.

I guess this is an affordable alternative to high end cracking or shatter polishes. BTW, I'd also like to add that I like the way it cracked, it looks more of a design than a mess (if you know what I'm saying).

And that ends my short but sweet post.
Stay tuned for more of this nail series.

Have you tried this nail polish?
If so, can you please help us get into details with this brand because I just got it for free and I have no idea where to buy this or how much does it cost. Your input will help a lot. Thanks! :)

xoxo,
Jannah
