OUR SWEET CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE (Part 1) : Disneyland!

Hi everyone!
Hubby and I went to California this late April and stayed for happy ten days.

Just wanted share our super fun trip experience!
And hopefully this could give you ideas on places to go on your California trip as well.

Lemme start with few tips:

*Grabbing tickets
-Try to check online for better deals and/or packages.
-If you have someone in the military, then lucky you to avail great discounts!
Go to  MWR website.

*Plan ahead of time!Make a time table to meet all (as much as possible) of you family your friends there.
Set each an appointment to avoid over lapping.

*Browse online on places you wanted to go in order for you not to miss spectacular shows and upcoming events! Mark thy calendars! :)

So here we go! Unto our first stop...

Check their website for cool packages!
We opted to stay on our place and drive early in the morning for Disney!
It took us roughly an hour I believe.
But, if you have no relatives or friends nearby, choose to stay in the Disneyland hotel and resort or stay in some hotels nearby which I guess can save you few bucks hehe.
We went for two days although our tickets were 3-days park hopper.
How I wish we can go back here!
It feels so happy and magical!
It's a place were dreams do come true.
Imagination is limitless! And it seems like you feel so young again haha!

One Sunday Morning (Pink Sisters and Balinsasayaw)

Sunday--means mass.
So that morning, our family went to Tagaytay City to hear the word of God at Pink Sisters Adoration Chapel. Mass is scheduled every Sunday are 7:30am and 5:00pm. While, mass starts at 6:30 am during weekdays. The chapel had always been filled up an hour before the mass starts. Tagaytay had not only been known by it's famous tourist spots and delightful restaurant but also with numerous monasteries within the vicinity.

Ever since I was a little, I had always been curious on what the nuns look like beyond the bars of the altar. The place is still very peaceful, the quiet sign boards are found in every corner. The wide garden area, the statues and parking lot are still the same, just as clean and very well kept as before. They still have a gift shop on the side where people can purchase rosary bracelets, rings, breads and cookies which actually tastes good. You'll also notice that some people will bring out their pens and get a piece of paper and envelope on the wings of the chapel after the mass has ended. This had been known for years now, you may write down your prayer and the Pink Sisters will help you pray it to God. Drop boxes are just located at both sides of the chapel. Now how to get there, if you're from Manila, you may take a bus going to Batangas. While, if you're from higher land you may take a ride going to Dasma. When you're already along the Emilio Aguinaldo Highway. Look for "D' Banquet" restaurant, that's the landmark located at the corner of the Pink Sisters road, Maitim II East. The convent is found at the end of that street.

After mass, we had our family brunch at Balinsasayaw. It's located at Brgy. Luksuhin, Silang, Cavite. It's just along the Emilio Aguinaldo Highway so it's easy to notice. If you like "cottage/kubo-kubo" style  restau then you might want to check this out. So I guess, I'd be leaving you with some photos now. Ciao! :) ~Jannah

Duty Free Shots

Hello! :)

So this is actually a very late post haha!
But no regrets nor apologies on my part. I don't force myself to blog whenever I don't feel it or I'm busy.
Hey! It's my hobby (or passion) not just a scheduled thing to do IMO.
More than willing to share my real/genuine *crazy* thoughts late than make an up-to-date forced one.

Here's my latest Duty Free experience. It was last May of this year, just when my dad arrived home. He's a chief marine engineer in case you guys are wondering. (Hey! We are not rich to tell you. We just have what we need and some of what we like. Not may be some or rather, most of you are! Aiyee! Aminin may be some of you are even bigtime heiress! I-charity mo na yan friend! JK! :p

Anyway! Here's some shots I've taken inside the Duty Free.
I just love shopping there since they're tax free.

ATC Meetup! :)

Hello everyone!:)

So today, I'll spare myself from making product reviews and stuff.
I'll share with you instead my meetup with my online friend Yhang.
Well, I've known Yhang since she won from one of my first giveaway contest.
Dang! Can you believe how lucky this girl is?
She won many giveaway contests and the biggest I guess is an iphone4S (take note Siri pa talaga haha!) from Petramahalimuyak (I love ashleylips too!) and Globe YouTube contest.
(Oi bakla, mamahagi ka naman ng mga premyo mo teh! Hahaha!)

One day, Baks (as we call each other) updated me via twitter that she'll be here in Manila.
So yeah..we set the date and place of course.
We went to ATC and she was with her cousin Nicole (Hi Nicole!).

Funny and kalog people are the best people to be with in terms of galaan.
I like how we spent time together eating and eating and eating CHOS!
Hahaha! Of course, we also made chikka about each other's life and watched a movie afterwards.

Anyway to cut the story short, here are some of our photos within that day.

The Avengers (2012) + Tryin' out BAR-B-KING

Hi everyone!
Just wanted to share what happened on me yesterday, April 28 (Saturday).
So me and my bff Belle, (lola belle and lola jah as we call each other) went to SM to watch The Avengers. We actually wanted to have a mini reunion but unfortunately our other friends weren't available. We first went to Popperoo, got a bucket of BBQ popcorn to munch and drinks, which was actually consumed before we went inside the movie house LOL! The line was so looooong! I advise that you get reservations before the day you plan to watch it if you have no patience on waiting. IMO, the long wait was super worth it! The movie was awesome! I don't wanna be a spoiler so I guess I'll just leave it as it is. Don't you dare miss this movie! It was action/adventure with a touch of comedy! We had a good time! :)
We then stroll around, window shopping at department store, etude house and etc.
About 9pm (LOL so late!), we felt hungry and stumbled at BAR-B-KING Charcoal Grilled Barbeque.
My bff treated me this dinner, thanks lola!
Here's what we ordered:
Grilled Angus Beef Belly for P150
Honey Chicken Bar-B for P115
Each meal comes with a soup and drink

Etude Playhouse Pink Fair 2012

Photo from ETUDE HOUSE FB FAN PAGE
Yesterday was a sweet pink fair day at Etude Play House!

I went all the way from Cavite and arrived on the venue for about an hour earlier.
I was like "Whoa!Dang the line was already long!". /sweat
Pretty impressing that Etude House PH was way even more prepared! They managed to handle everything well despite the number of early princes and princesses. Kudos!

I had loads of fun taking photos, participating on games, meeting fellow bloggers, seeing familiar faces which I see online and learning new things from the beauty and fashion experts.

BTW, I got my ticket from Atty. Donnarence of My Lucid Intervals. Thanks Donna, I owe this experience to you!
There were facial care and make-over, which I just enjoyed watching since the line was literally long on both stations. And of course lots of sweets, which I really like!
Games and photo booth (which I also didn't got the chance to experience *sob*) were on the other corner. Free MEG magazines were also given. Say hello to Betsy (the pink beetle car of Etude House)! :)
And of course a majestic PlayHouse wouldn't be complete without learning new things. There were a lot of nifty discussions which can help us gain confidence and enhance ourselves. Proper skin cleansing, exfoliating (which I learned should be done every other day acc. to Mr. Boram Kim and I was just exfoliating twice a week EEEEK! Atleast now I know!) and moisturizing was tackled first. Trend Summer Report, Personality Development Talk and Beauty Class were also held. Words that marked on me were "malgeum" which means clean and clear and "anorak" which is coat-like garments. All along I thought "anorak" was a term only used to describe someone who has an avid interest or expertise in something, didn't know it was used in fashion too. I also learned that applying clear nail polishes on accessories has benefit! (Pretty cool huh! Guilty of my limited knowledge on fashion and accessories! :p )

So nice meeting her! Check out her blog! :)
I also saw more fellow bloggers but hadn't got the chance to take photo with them.
*Moi regrets!* Well, maybe next time ayt?!
Hey, I must say that these three in the photo all have wonderful skin (Oh boy! They're flawless!).

There was also two little pretty kiddies who approached me while I was sitting and asked for my number. I heard them saying Dela Cruz something but I hesitated to give my number thinking they were sent by a random guy. Later did it sink in my mind that I met few bloggers and maybe they were their kids, oh my my apologies if that's the case to whoever it is. I'm not a snob, just being careful.

Wanted to go for Day 2 to learn and meet more people but obviously I didn't make it since I woke up late. :p

CONGRATULATIONS on Etude House Philippines for reaching 100k LIKES on FB!
Hit the LIKE button now if you haven't yet! Aren't their items so kawaii?!
Not to mention their endorsers are much loved! My heart is still with Lee Minho! <3 Haha :)

Thank you so much for reading!

xoxo,
Jannah

JS PROM Hair & Makeup for the Best Friends

SEE THE ORIGINAL POST on my personal blog (http://jannahlopez.blogspot.com) dated Feb 8, 2012. :)
Holla!
Today I just had my first prom makeup gig...
I already did makeup for photo shoots, debuts and other special events but not Junior-Senior Prom until now.

Sai (a.k.a Cy from his name Cyrus), a batch mate of mine from De La Salle-Health Sciences Institute booked me to do her sister's hair and makeup for their school's JS Prom Night at  Makati Shangri-La, Manila this 8th of February 2012. Few days after he asked me if I can also do hair and makeup for Regine's friend, Patricia. I agreed cause I have no other scheduled appointment today. So gora lang ng gora mga beki (So just go, go gays!) Tagal kong nagisip ng english translation nyan, tama ba ?! LOL! ;p

Our call time was 1pm at 7eleven of Rosario, Laguna. We (Bryan came with me for help and  support aiyee!) arrived on time and Sai fetch us from there to their house. I immediately started to fix all the necessary things that I will be using on the table inside their well-lighted living room.

Days before, I already asked them what do they like for their hair and makeup to look like.Regine (Sai's beautiful sister) wanted a natural makeup with curly hair while Patricia (Regine's best friend) wanted a smokey eye look with a low up do. They have different picks but they wanted to have something in common which is a braid in the hair.

Here's some pics for you to have an idea how did the best friends come up after I did their hair and makeup...

MORE PHOTOS WILL BE POSTED...
My iPhone4's battery was drained (Useless gadget for me today! >.< ) so I wasn't able to take photos personally.
Will wait for my friend Sai to upload more LOL!
Hopefully including their before shots and hair styles.
Wait 'til you see Patricia's low flower up do.
THANKS MUCHIE SAI! :)

While I'm making sure that her neck is even to her face color.

Regine looks like a Korean actress!

I love how I made her brows bolder for a more natural look, contoured her nose and cheeks too! :)

Hopefully they had a great time on dancing at their JS Prom tonight.
It's fulfilling to know that their moms was satisfied and liked my job.

I remember my JS Prom years and years ago...(reminiscing time for the aged LOL!)
Infairness, nominated ang lola nyo noon! Charos di naman nanalo LOL!

Thank you so much to Regine and Patricia for entrusting their JS Prom look on my hands.
And specially to Sai, and their mom's who hired me.
Also to Bryan for accompanying me and helping me on this day. Thanks for the unending support bhe! :*

After Laguna, we went to SM Dasma to eat dinner and went straight home to rest for the nextgora day! :)

Care to share how was your JS Prom look before?
My makeup was a dark smokey blue eyeshadow with a light peachy pink lipstick then my hair was up.
I wore a blueish-purple ball gown (LOL, uso yan nung time ko friend, now di na e) with matching gloves pa ang lola mo, arte lang! Haha! and Silver Heels, cause my gowns was beaded with silvers. I think mala Cinderella drama ni mamsy(mother/mom) before. She actually made up the theme for me but we are really required by our school to wear blue. Blue for the Seniors and Pink for Juniors (Corny right? If there was no mandatory color  I think I'd wear either white or purple). I hope I can find an old picture of mine. It was posted on my Friendster before but cmon' FS, why did you disappear on this face of the earth. jk! :p

THANK YOU FOR READING MY TODAY"S BLOG!
I had so much fun doing my first Prom makeup gig! :)

My First Meet Up with a Co-Beauty Blogger

Last Jan 29, Sunday, I had my first ever meet up with another beauty blogger, Nadj of Ateenadj.
I first discovered her thru twitter. She's from Iligan City but now staying at Quezon City for her exam while I work somewhere in Q.C. so we decided to meet up. We initially decided to meet on Monday but she had a scheduled interview on the same day so moved it earlier. I have no idea on places to go in Q.C. aside from the vicinity where I am working. She initially suggested for SM North but I asked her if it's okay if we meet in Trinoma at 3pm instead, Nadj agreed (yey!) and weeeeee here's the story of our meet up there... :)

I was with my bf, Bryan. We arrived a bit early than 3pm so we decided to eat first, we weren't able to have proper lunch because I woke up late (sorry!). We should have went first to the office then to Trinoma that's why it was sched at 3pm LOL pero dahil ang lola nyo late nagising, straight to trinoma na kami. We had a late lunch at Max's. I wanted to dine in at Conti's but the waiting line was soooo long we couldn't stand it. We went out the store with three slices of Mango Bravo and headed straight to Max's (his fave chicken). Nadj was already en route to Trinoma when I texted her.

When sis Nadj texted me na she's at Max's na, I looked for her around. Ang lola mo nasa labas pala haha, she waved her hand and then yey! sya na nga! :)

Natouch ako sis T.T

Nadj's face was covered by letter S.
I guess I should have moved a little, there was a lady beside me trying out a lippie kasi. >.<
First few minutes was the typical get-to-know time over the Mango Bravo and ice tea. Sorry Nadj! I didn't know you don't like cakes much pala. I like this kasi kaya I got you din...didn't know talaga! :/
The Mango Bravo Cake
Other food photos are on my personal blog.
Nadj handed me a gift. She texted me the night before our meet up if I like nail polishes and I answered yes. Lahat ng kakikayan taglay ko mga bakla, Chos! Pero seriously, naka red nail polish pa ko ng nagmeet kami haha. Partida nagduduty ako ah, for kikay sake when I have no duty, todo nail polish. If may duty na, hello acetone na ko. She said she doesn't use much nail polish so she gave this to me, so sweet!  Forgot to take a photo of the chocolate I gave her. Thank you dear! :*

After merienda together, we strolled at Landmark to look for the famous Landmark brushes including si JENNY! Hahaha! Nasaan ka Jenny ang drama namin ni Nadj. It was on the lower floor pala, we saw Goody hair accessories and etc. while on our way to escalator. Some chit-chat while walking towards the makeup counters about our common fave gurus.

Finally we met Jenny and the other Landmark brushes!
I was actually expecting a table like what I saw from Sabrina of MissCoryPotts but anyway, given the fact na antagal ko bago nakapunta kay Jenny, malamang nagaayos din ang Landmark noh?! Sab's post was Sept last year pa. Hahaha!

Here's what Nadj and I saw...
Brush set for P499.75.
It looks nice but it sheds, noh sis Nadj? I checked one face brush e, but we didn't checked on the eye brushes. It's soft too but not dense enough. Pero aminin, nice brush case oh, bongga na sa 5humbers (500) pesos yan friend! Pasok na din sa banga! Medyo carry na for the price.
Eye brushes and nice holder
Face brushes and eye brushes
I was actually eyeing for a soft affordable face brush for my mom but there was no affordable face brush there. The good quality face brush costs like P4h plus. So we end up getting 2 Jenny brushes for the both of us and a very precise eyeliner brush na natripan ko lang.

Here's mine, took some photos after I got home.
We strolled around the Beauty Cosmetics area in Landmark.
My mom asked me to buy Jazzy James Cooper Cream Foundation but it wasn't available in Landmark.
Here are the other stuffs that I got from there.
Maybelline Falsies Mascara P499(which is not available in my area so I grabbed the opportunity), Jocarste Glitter Nail Polish P39 (Fave color syempre!) and Lash Curler Foam for just P14.25
After Landmark we parted ways already.
Thank you so much sis Nadj for the time. It was fun looking around the makeup counters with you! Revlon, ELF, Wet n' Wild, LA Colors, EB, FS, Cinema Secrets, Maybelline, Covergirl, Shawill, PAC and LOLA (first time I saw these last two brands, matagal na ba to or sadyang taga bundok lang ako?LOL) and others. MAC na ayaw kong daanan para walang temptation hahaha! Nagulat ako sa same bday natin, Aries rocks! Thanks for sharing with me your previous meet-ups din. Until next time sis Nadj! Thank you for being nice. I had a great time! We'll keep in touch fooosure! :)
