It's a girl thing!

Hey lovelies! What's up? Well I'm kinda bored this monday morning and soooo
while having a cup of tea, here I am in front of my lappy blogging about my latest whatever and whereabouts! Pretty kewl idea before hitting the gym latah.
This post is entirely a girl's thing, hence the title. Blah!

So yesterday I went at BDJ Beauty Social at SM Aura. I went there mainly to meet fellow bloggers Celline and Eloisa. And I'm glad to meet few more like Gen-zel, Dawn and Kristine. I was also able to see again Helen which I met at an Etude House Pink Fair and Anna whom I met in a Glaminar workshop.

Chinggus Reunited : YAKIMIX at ATC experience!

Early this month, I just met my good (well actually great) chinggus at Yakimix ATC! Weee!!!

We all went into the same college, same dorm during review of board exam and even became roommates when we had our first job experience after graduation in Quezon City. Imagine how close are we? Haha! But now, reunion was kinda hassle since we are not all coming from the South now and we sort of grew apart by profession. As much as we wanted to be together, reality wise, we separated ways to be successful in our own endeavors. Oh, by the way the word chinggu means friend. Pretty 'kewl right?

Neither of us have dined in here yet and so we wanted to try altogether...again? Eeew corny! Okay, so we arrived early in the afternoon for the dinner buffet. As usual ang walang kamatayang hintayan ng tropa ryt? Anyway we pretty much enjoyed chit-chatting and catching up with the latest among each other. Of course what's the latest on career, love and of course the current update among fellow batchmates and colleagues LOL! And when we were finally called to enter here's what we saw...

The Ultimate Buffet: DADS at SM Mega mall

Hi everyone!

My interest on trying some new food contributed to my endearment with eat-all-you-can buffet restaurants serving different cuisines. It was the almost the end of the month of February that I had to take my IELTS examination at Crown Hotel in Ortigas. It was a two-day scheduled test, meaning to say, I had to go for two days, all the way from Cavite to Ortigas just for a single part on the first day which was the speaking test and on the next day for all the remaining parts. I therefore grabbed the opportunity to try Dads buffet restaurant on the same occasion knowing that speaking test duration is just fifteen minutes and Dads do not have a branch anywhere here in Cavite.

DADS Ultimate buffet is a combination of Dads Continental fare, Saisaki Japanese specialties and Kamayan’s authentic Filipino Cuisine. Here are some photos of my visit:

BUFFET 101 : Happy Tummy

Buffet 101: Wide food variety, good ambiance and great service ! -Jannah Lopez

If you could not decide whether you want Italian pasta, Japanese sushi or dive in to sweets and pastries, then it is the best to opt for buffet or eat-all-you-can restaurants. Buffet101 located in SM By the Bay is good choice for walk-in customers. Been impulsive twice but it's not much of a hassle since they can accommodate up to 500 guests. No need to wait long in line even if you have no reservations! They offer great buffet experience in a hotel-like ambiance for an affordable price.

Food Trip in CAVITE

I like to eat. Well not a  really a lot...
But...Alright, lemme stop there (lol!). K, fine. I like to eat a lot.
But not to the extent that I become greedy c'mon! haha (Am I being defensive or what? : p)
Nah I don't wanna deny that fact that I love food! Hihi *wink wink*
C'mon let us all get real! I love going on food trips!

Which is why I wanted to share some places here in Cavite wherein you can dig in!
Who knows, we might have bumped into each other already right?

Anyway,  being raised in Cavite,  I have personally seen numerous restaurants evolved
from just a kiosk then into small canteen to a starting restaurant.
Being a regular customer (suki) , I am happy and proud to witness such success.
(mudra? Stage mom ang peg? haha!)
And of course let us not neglect the numerous food options inside the malls and shopping centers!
Aaaaah HAPPY TUMMY = HAPPY TIME!
Note that the order of the following does not mean anything. It's all just food random okay.
Besides, this is not going to be thorough. More of sharing food randomness yikes!
I want it to be like "I'm in Cavite, so what can we have in here."
Geez, as I'm typing this I bet this is going to be loooong post rather than thorough as I want it to be a complete list in a single entry. (maipilit ko lang ryt? haha!)

Alright, so lemme start with my favorite...the MILK TEAS!

JUOL KYEO CHAT GI Korean Restaurant in Dasma, Cavite

“Annyeong Haseyo! “안녕하세요” . A warm greeting for a hungry tummy!  Those are the words you'll hear when you open the glass door of JUOL KYEO CHAT GI Korean Restaurant situated at Stall 11- 12 D. Mangubat Ave. Brgy. Burol Main, Dasma, Cavite. Staffs were trained enough to be nice and courteous to each and every customer that enters their restaurant. Don't worry staffs are Filipino and even the Korean owners and manager speak english.

Once in a while I crave for Korean food. I just love it! Most particularly their Spicy Pork and Honey chicken. Banchan or side dishes are served immediately after sitting , i.e. fish cake with vegetables, kimchi and sometimes with another kimchi veggie or soup. After few minutes of waiting, same old usual orders were served. Yes, I am a regular customer. I highly recommend the Spicy pork / Jae Yook Bokum for those who want to tickle their taste buds with a savory, spicy flavored pork stir fried with veggies. I swear, it just taste so damn good! Serving would be good for one person. This might also enough to be shared by two persons with small appetites. A cup of rice isn't actually enough for the amount of meat dish!

One Sunday Morning (Pink Sisters and Balinsasayaw)

Sunday--means mass.
So that morning, our family went to Tagaytay City to hear the word of God at Pink Sisters Adoration Chapel. Mass is scheduled every Sunday are 7:30am and 5:00pm. While, mass starts at 6:30 am during weekdays. The chapel had always been filled up an hour before the mass starts. Tagaytay had not only been known by it's famous tourist spots and delightful restaurant but also with numerous monasteries within the vicinity.

Ever since I was a little, I had always been curious on what the nuns look like beyond the bars of the altar. The place is still very peaceful, the quiet sign boards are found in every corner. The wide garden area, the statues and parking lot are still the same, just as clean and very well kept as before. They still have a gift shop on the side where people can purchase rosary bracelets, rings, breads and cookies which actually tastes good. You'll also notice that some people will bring out their pens and get a piece of paper and envelope on the wings of the chapel after the mass has ended. This had been known for years now, you may write down your prayer and the Pink Sisters will help you pray it to God. Drop boxes are just located at both sides of the chapel. Now how to get there, if you're from Manila, you may take a bus going to Batangas. While, if you're from higher land you may take a ride going to Dasma. When you're already along the Emilio Aguinaldo Highway. Look for "D' Banquet" restaurant, that's the landmark located at the corner of the Pink Sisters road, Maitim II East. The convent is found at the end of that street.

After mass, we had our family brunch at Balinsasayaw. It's located at Brgy. Luksuhin, Silang, Cavite. It's just along the Emilio Aguinaldo Highway so it's easy to notice. If you like "cottage/kubo-kubo" style  restau then you might want to check this out. So I guess, I'd be leaving you with some photos now. Ciao! :) ~Jannah

ATC Meetup! :)

Hello everyone!:)

So today, I'll spare myself from making product reviews and stuff.
I'll share with you instead my meetup with my online friend Yhang.
Well, I've known Yhang since she won from one of my first giveaway contest.
Dang! Can you believe how lucky this girl is?
She won many giveaway contests and the biggest I guess is an iphone4S (take note Siri pa talaga haha!) from Petramahalimuyak (I love ashleylips too!) and Globe YouTube contest.
(Oi bakla, mamahagi ka naman ng mga premyo mo teh! Hahaha!)

One day, Baks (as we call each other) updated me via twitter that she'll be here in Manila.
So yeah..we set the date and place of course.
We went to ATC and she was with her cousin Nicole (Hi Nicole!).

Funny and kalog people are the best people to be with in terms of galaan.
I like how we spent time together eating and eating and eating CHOS!
Hahaha! Of course, we also made chikka about each other's life and watched a movie afterwards.

Anyway to cut the story short, here are some of our photos within that day.

The Avengers (2012) + Tryin' out BAR-B-KING

Hi everyone!
Just wanted to share what happened on me yesterday, April 28 (Saturday).
So me and my bff Belle, (lola belle and lola jah as we call each other) went to SM to watch The Avengers. We actually wanted to have a mini reunion but unfortunately our other friends weren't available. We first went to Popperoo, got a bucket of BBQ popcorn to munch and drinks, which was actually consumed before we went inside the movie house LOL! The line was so looooong! I advise that you get reservations before the day you plan to watch it if you have no patience on waiting. IMO, the long wait was super worth it! The movie was awesome! I don't wanna be a spoiler so I guess I'll just leave it as it is. Don't you dare miss this movie! It was action/adventure with a touch of comedy! We had a good time! :)
We then stroll around, window shopping at department store, etude house and etc.
About 9pm (LOL so late!), we felt hungry and stumbled at BAR-B-KING Charcoal Grilled Barbeque.
My bff treated me this dinner, thanks lola!
Here's what we ordered:
Grilled Angus Beef Belly for P150
Honey Chicken Bar-B for P115
Each meal comes with a soup and drink

HAUL + HAINANESE DELIGHTS

Hi everyone!
My mom and I went to SM yesterday, April 29.
No this time it isn't for movie, it's for shopping spree *Yey!*

So to cut the story short, we first dropped by at Payless. I like Payless. They should change their name by Paymore haha! I went straight to my size area but I didn't found any pair that I like and my mom too. We went to several boutiques but it's just the same scenario. We finally decided to go at SM Department store. We have more options there we thought. Here's my shoe haul. I terribly need new foot wears, I know!

EAT ALL YOU CAN AT CARL CED'Z GRILL & RESTAURANT

It was my first time to dine in an EAT-ALL-YOU-CAN lunch at CARL CED'Z  GRILL & RESTAURANT located at Centennial Rd, Kawit, Philippines together with my bf, his family and relatives.

We arrived at lunch time so the place was a bit crowded already. The menu was enticingly delicious. They serve various pork, beef and seafood Pinoy dishes. I love buffet style restaurants because I get to taste variety of dishes and I can pick whichever do I want to eat more.

On that day they served fish fillet, grilled pork, alimango, tahong, chopsuey, pusit, pansit, inihaw na manok, and others that I couldn't remember the names on the long table. I haven't gotten the chance to take photos clearly since there are a lot of people next in my line for the buffet. Alangan namang sabihin kong "Wait! pipictureran ko lang, wala munang kukuha." Baka nasapok pa ko, kahit ako gutom na haha!

They're unlike other EAT-ALL-YOU-CAN restau here in P.I. (Philippine Island) na tipid sa rekados ng ulam. We all know how hard and difficult it is to maintain a buffet style restaurant. They have to keep refilling the servings, which the crew are quick at. We just have to ask them once and they will quickly get for you. Unfortunately we missed the Caldereta that my bf and his lolo wants. I was also bitin with the leche flan, naubos na daw kasi.

Price was a good deal. P175/head(Monday-Thursday); Lunch & Dinner buffet P195/head (Friday and Saturday); They also serve Japanese dish on Fridays.

Right across is Kartini Hotel.

I would definitely love to bring my family next time. I didn't know the place until last Saturday, we often head to Tagaytay whenever we want to dine out. Good thing my bf and his family introduced me to a new place and treated me here. Salamat po! A new crib to NOM NOM NOM! Hahaha! Bochog nanaman!

Guess what where we eat for dinner?
No, sa iba naman hahaha grabe puro eat-all-you-can?!

YELLOW CAB & STARBUCKS TRIP AT DASMA

My bf went home last Jan 20,2012. Of course, we have to spend quality time together before he leaves P.I. again on March 1. From then, we always hang out on different restaurants, eating all our favorite foods and meet with our friends. Last Jan 28, Saturday, we met up with his best friend from High school. The three of us had buffet lunch together with my bf's family at CARL CED'Z  GRILL & RESTAURANT. We didn't stop food tripping there, mga gutom pa daw haha!

We had our dinner at Yellow Cab Dasma, infront of De La Salle University Medical Center(UMC) Hospital. Bryan, my bf, ordered two 18" pizza, Manhattan Meatlovers and Four seasons (sa wakas nagsawa na kaming 2 sa NY Finest) and 2 orders of Hot wings (love eeet! I like spicy foods). Right beside YC is SB so we went there for frappe. Of course my forever fave Chocolate Chip Cream (which Bry said is not available in CA), our companions chose Coffee Jelly and White Chocolate Mocha. Haaaay it's indeed a bochog day for us. Ansarap kumain ng kumain pero ang hiraaaaap magpapayat. Hahaha!

My heart and my stomach are just sooooo happy that I wanted to share my happiness with this blog entry.

xoxo,
Jannah

PIZZA LOVER!

shakey s
Pizza has always been my favorite food since I was a child. I actually don't know what I specifically love about it LOL. I prefer the thick crust pizza, cheesy and without olives! I want to try all the pizza in the world!YEAH! So far the local pizza's that I have tried are from Pizza Hut, Yellow Cab, Shakey's (see above photos). I have also tried Sbarro's, Carlo's and Joey's Pepperoni Pizzas but I don't have their pictures sorry.I will dine again to their place so that I could post it here. Oh I'm excited to try El Buono's Pizza. They have a branch near my place but I promised to my boyfriend to wait for him until he gets back here in Philippines so that we could try it together (cheesy! XP). He bought me palm cards (yes cards) from Pizza Hut so that I could have my fave food every month in promo (buy 1 take 1) . To know more about Pizza Hut palm card here's the link:  http://www.pizzahut.com.ph/2007/palm.php
