Maybelline Rocket Volum' Express Mascara Review

Hi! Here's a short review of the mascara I just tried couple of months ago.
It's called Maybelline Rocket Volum' Express Mascara.

I was loyal to my Maybelline Falsies mascara not until I saw the cousin of my husband

having this beautiful lashes which actually looks like she's wearing false eyelashes already.

And so when I asked her she introduced this to me.

And of course I have to have this.

Packaging looks like this.

And the brush is fat and straight.

I can say that I like falsies better since it's curved and hugs my lashes better.

This mascara is really good for volumizing and fair enough as far as lengthening my lashes.

It did not come up as good as my husband's cousins lashes but the effect was okay though for 

a mascara priced around six to eight bucks, depends where you get yours.

It was nice to try a different mascara from the brand I love.

 I just love Maybelline, it's really a good drugstore brand specially there mascaras.

I don't want to spend on mascaras so much not unless they're on sale since you gotta

replace them every three months.

How about you? I have heard about L'Oreals mascaras.

Any recommendations?

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE? | Maybelline BB creams comparison and swatches

Hi lovelies!

Having a hard time to decide which BB cream to buy?

Worry no more as I share my two cents on different kinds of BB creams from Maybelline New York.

There are two things to consider when you initially wanted to try the most sought after skin product now a days, BB cream. First, where can you purchase? Next, would it fit your budget? 

With that being said, here are two options that I have personally tried and I recommend. 

The Maybelline Clear Smooth 8-in-1 skin transformer BB cream and 

the latter Maybelline Clear Smooth 8-in-1 High Protection Anti UV BB cream. That was mouthful! 

Anyway, they're both locally available and  affordable.

Let's start first with Maybelline Clear Smooth 8-in-1 skin transformer BB cream.

I HEART Maybelline Clear Smooth BB Stick!

So today I'd like to quickly share with you how much I fell in love with Maybelline's BB stick. It's been out in the market for quite a while and yeah shame on me for just being able to try it a month ago or so. Maybelline Philippines sent me products to try out along with their previous search for new 2013 Maybelline 8 BB Top Models. Just in case you didn't know, I've been an avid fan of BB creams for such a long time. Constantly using BB creams every single typical day of my life wherein I just need an extra something to even my skin tone, a sheer coverage and light weight product on my face. Say no to cakey-ness! So here comes an additional Blemish Balm (BB) to test. Well a little bit of twist on the packaging because it comes in a stick form, like you literally need to twist it to elevate the BB stick itself *giggles*.

Review: Maybelline Pure Mineral Concealer

As I always say,

A flawless skin is the perfect canvas on makeup isn't it?

Concealers-- ladies' best friend to cover up blemishes, acne marks, 

dark eye circles and other skin imperfections.

That's why concealing is very important.

Concealers make or break the makeup look.

Learning proper technique and having a good concealing product is the key.

Review: Maybelline Clear Smooth BB Silk Cake Powder

BB cream user?

Packaging freak?

Purple lover?

My answers are just all YES!!!

"OMG!"--my initial reaction when I first saw this uber cutesy purple compact from Maybelline.

More so that I've read it's label--"BB Silk". 

Well, knowing how much I love to use my bb cream daily, 

I JUST HAVE TO GET THIS!

And sooo, woot woot!

I've been using this for a month now and finally I'm going to throw my two cents.

PRODUCT DETAILS:

Pore-smoothing BB Silk Essence is infused into our ultra fine powders to blend into a silky soft, weightless film that won’t sent into or highlight your pores. Instantly creates a smoother, poreless looking skin. Brighter UV-Protected Skin. Contains “Korean Mulberry Root Extract”, known to lighten and brighten skin while inhibiting melanin production. Skin instantly becomes visibly brighter and more radiant. SPF 21 PA+++ protects skin from harmful UV rays and skin darkening. Oil Control for Hours. Oil absorbing ingredients effectively absorbs excess oil though the wear.

MY OPINION:

♥♥♥LIKES♥♥♥

-Reflective purple compact is super cute.

-Separate bottom compartment for sponge is hygienic.

- Affordable and locally available at PHP 329.00

-Has SPF 21 PA++. Perfect for summer time noh?

-Blends easily and gives a silky finish

-No break-outs after a month of use

-No need for touch-ups in my case since I don't have oily skin.

I use bb cream as base and I stay mostly in an air-conditioned area.

-Not powdery or chalky whenever I use my brush to apply this on my face.

-The coverage is light to medium and leaves my skin looking poreless and fresh.

~~Cons~~

-Compact is a little bulky, wishing it was a little sleek instead.

-More shades please. This seem to be for fair but with cool undertone as it leans more on pink side and I am fair with more of a warmer yellow undertones. 02 which is the next shade is already dark for me.

Overall, considering the price and the quality of what you're getting, I definitely recommend this.

With the compact itself actually, I'm all contented haha!

MY TWO CENTS:

*Pros:

-Gives my lashes the real volume that I want

(I'm not a fan of clumpy lashes. I like my lashes long and volumized but not clumpy.)

-Doesn't flake off easily

-Holds up curl well

-Waterproof (Didn't came off after I cried)

-Contact lens safe and ophthalmologist-tested

-I like the unique flexible wand 

-I like the colorful packaging (A fun of purple color here LOL)

MY OPINION:

*Pros:

- It's a true rich black color which I like.

- Creamy and lasts for several months in jar. 

- Decent packaging. (Asian)

-Comes with a brush.

-Available locally.

*Cons:

-Some may find it affordable while others consider it expensive already. For me, it's quite pricey already since there are other brands just amounting to P400 and less but please do read my sharing down below.

-Brush that comes with it is more of a lip brush than an eyeliner brush to me.

*Little bit of sharing: 

   If you find this a bit expensive then come to think of this, I've tried few random gel liners which costs less than this but they all dried up so fast, I haven't even finish the whole jar yet. Worst, I didn't even reach the half! So you'll just end  up buying over and over again which in the end will sum you more than P400.

  I had a good deal with this eyeliner. It's my 2nd jar already and I'm loving it. It stays creamy for several months, just make sure not to leave the jar open LOL. Watch out for Maybelline's sale for a better deal. :)

*Would I repurchase? YES

*Do I recommend it?To whom? YES. To those who wants to try out using a gel liner.

*To whom I don’t recommend it: To those who have shaky hands. Gel liner application needs a stable hand for precise brush application. LOL.

Maybelline Angelfit Concealer

Pros:

-Lightweight concealer, it doesn’t feel cakey or anything

- Gives light-medium coverage. I don’t recommend this if you need heavy coverage concealer.

- Little bit goes a long way

-Locally available (Maybelline Asia)

-Affordable

-Comes in a decent tube packaging

Cons:

-Few shades to choose from (Mine is in 01)

(I can’t think of any other cons :p)

Ellana Mineral Concealer in Awake

Pros:

-It’s a MINERAL concealer 

- Comes in a yellow-ish tone which neutralizes my dark circles

Cons:

-Bought through online

- Settle in my fine lines at times

-I don’t know. I just couldn’t find myself reaching for this lately.

Nyx concealer in fair

Pros:

-Creamy! Could give you medium-heavy coverage

-Little goes a long way

- Doesn’t feel cakey (atleast to me?  ). Just blend it nicely and make sure to get the correct shade.

-Has lots of shades to choose from

-The jar contains a lot of product.

Cons:

-NYX is not available locally in the Philippines

-Purchased mine thru an online shop so I didn’t get the chance to swatch all the shades and personally pick which suite me best.

-More of an unhygienic packaging. (I guess?) Use a spatula if you don’t want to keep your fingers from contaminating the product.

Avon Ideal Concealer Stick

Pros:

-Travel-friendly above all of the concealers that I own

-Easy to apply, just glide it against your skin and blend

-Available locally

-Affordable

Cons:

-Settles in fine lines

-Only comes in two shades

This are all the concealers that I own as of the moment. I know it’s not a lot but they’re all useful for me so I find them worth keeping and blogging. Thanks for reading the review of a simple, middle class girl like me. Take care!
