Cheap Find: San San's Age Defense Eyeshadow Trio

Hi everyone! ^_^

I'm currently trying to figure out which items should I use on a makeup challenge that was tagged to me in YouTube. And so...here's what I found for the eyes: San San's Age Defense Eyeshadow Trio no. 01. As soon as I have heard about the challenge, numerous local brands entered my mind. But unfortunately I don't have enough time now to go to the mall and check out what's the latest deals (too bad right?). It so happen that there's this HBC store within the vicinity of my workplace. Aren't HBC store known for their affordability? I dropped by to their store and lo and behold! There are so many stuffs for sale, some for P75 and even P50. Nope, I didn't hoarded haha! I told myself that I only need a single yet multi-functional product that I can use not only for the tag video alone. Had swatched and swatched until I finally found what I was looking for. 

So here's what the San San's Age Defense Eyeshadow Trio no. 01 looks like...

 I just love the shades!!! :)

Use the champagne colored eye shadow in the middle as an over-all eyelid color. Deepen the crease with the darkest brown eye shadow. Don't forget to highlight your inner corners with the lightest color to brighten up the eyes! Isn't that very easy? :)

PROS:

-Affordable for just PHP 101.00

-It's an eye shadow but can also be applied optionally on cheeks as a blush and a highlighter.

-It's creamy! Somewhat like a cream shadow that turns into powder after blending.

-Pigmented. Actually the most pigmented eye shadow I've swatched in HBC I guess.

-With SPF15, Vit A, C and E

-Easy to blend either with fingers or brush

-Can also be used as an eye shadow base

-Comes with two sponge applicators (which are actually okay)

-3 beautiful shades to choose from. 02 comes in neutral shadows also but with more hint of bronze shades while 03 comes with a plum and grays.

CONS:

-Not a fan of it's packaging.

-May crease if not blended and set properly.

-Color does fade after several hours when used alone.

Over all, considering the price this product seem to be a good buy. As of the moment, I love to use the lightest color to highlight my inner eye corners everyday! Perfect for those who would want to look beautiful without splurging much!

Sleek Divine Mineral Based Eyeshadow Palette in OH SO SPECIAL

Today, I'll share with you my two cents on Sleek Palette in OH SO SPECIAL.

This palette is definitely good for day to night time! I felt love at first sight on this palette (knowing how I love neutrals, mattes and really wearable eye colors).

We've recently given our i-Divines a makeover! The outer packaging has been updated and the way the eye shadows are pressed are different. They are now pressed flat instead of the original waffle print.

PRODUCT REVIEW

 PACKAGING:

-Comes in very decent, sturdy, black case

-Convenient size for travelling since the size is 5.5 x 3 inches

-Comes with a mirror inside and a sponge tip applicator which actually has a good quality.
It's not crappy like the sponge tip applicator that comes in palettes
-Shadow names were printed on the plastic protector.
I wish it was printed on the palette itself.

SWATCHES & PIGMENTATION:

-about 1 inch in diameter

Pigmentation:

Bow

-The sheerest among all eye shadows in this palette. I initially thought it was matte but surprisingly it has sheen on it . Thus, making this great for highlighting the brow bone. However, this color is the most hardest to pick up.

Organza

-This beautiful peachy pink shadow with specs of gold is prolly my 2nd fave out of the bunch. Color suits my taste very well and the pigmentation is incredibly great. Glides and blends on easily.

Ribbon

-A warm pink matte palette. It's actually pigmented than other matte eye shadows from Sleek.

Gift Basket

-A highly pigmented shimmery bronze. Great to pack on eyelids and blends easily.

Glitz

-A shimmery eye shadow that is best for night gigs! This reminds me a lot of Gunmetal from my UD Naked palette.

Celebrate

-A shimmery eye shadow that is somewhat like a cranberry color but more on purple than red with a hint of black on it.

Pamper

-This matte pale pink eye shadow will definitely add warmth on eyes. It's a little chalky than other. Plus,  I just hope the pan was big big enough for my blush brush to fit in perfectly as I am a fan of this colors for my cheeks! How I'd love to use this as blush instead *sigh!*

GATEAU

-Definitely my favorite! It looks violet on pan but it appears to be TAUPE-ish when swatched. I just love it! Pigmentation is great too!

The Mail

-This matches my skin tone well. It reminds me of Honeycomb from my Sleek Au Naturel Palette.

Boxed

-A matte cool dark brown that can deepen the crease well.

Wrapped Up

-A rich matte dark brown with red undertone.

Noir

-A matte black which is very pigmented.

Don't expect it to be really mineral as what the name says.

Conducted a little water test...
Pretty good right? Might as well worth the purchase for those who have oily lids.
Btw, all swatch photos have no eye primer at all. Even this one below...

Overall:

This palette is a great addition to my collection. It's great to work with subtle to smokey and even some flamboyant looks. I like the combination of colors and the quality is good specially the shimmer shadows. 

I'd definitely film several tutorials with this so please stay tuned.

My Favorite Neutral Eye shadows and Swatches

I'm such a huge fan of neutral colors when it comes to eye shadows. I just feel like I can't get enough of them.I love mostly taupe colors and likes. It's either I'm not wearing any eye color or just neutral shadows for everyday makeup look. Rare to see me wearing bright eye makeup color. For some reasons, I just feel more classy and sophisticated with neutral colors than wearing fun colors. Nothing against fun bright colors okay. Please don't get me wrong.They're actually fun and bold but I'm just not too comfortable wearing those everyday specially in public, most particularly in hospital then I'm wearing my white duty uniform (C'mon, if you were the patient you would opt to entrust yourself with a professional looking nurse right?). If my everyday work happens to be in malls, resorts or any other areas where creativity and fun colors are more delightful to see, or perhaps I'd change my perception when I'll have straight off days. I can take a break on a beach resort or maybe just a private pool, shall then can I experiment on different bright makeup looks which are perfect for summer. But as of the moment, neutral eye shadows are my best friend.

Urban Decay is by far my favorite brand for eye shadows. They're very pigmented, finely-milled, not so chalky and definitely they last all day. They're not the typical shadows that fades making eyes look like punched or  raccoon-like at the end of the day.

( Sometimes I use them as stand alone eye shadows or just simply an over all lid color.)

Latter two are my picks whenever I feel that my face is so dull. Using a slightly darker shadow makes my eye look more awake than just my almost near skin tone colors. I just make sure to keep them to a minimum and not really a smokey eye look at all.

I also like these two matte shadows Naked and Buck for blending and nose contouring.

**My favorite crease or outer V colors of the moment from Urban Decay** 

I use this shadows whenever I feel like adding depth to my eyes, not necessarily for smokey eye.

Half Baked

-This is initially one of my fave but I currently find it warmer to my liking. This would be great for a golden glow look this summer.

Tainted, Omen and Deep End are obviously fun and bright eye shadow colors. I also like their quality and texture.

Btw, I also have a 42 Double Stack palette, but it's too shimmery for everyday use.

MY THOUGHTS:

*Pros:

-I'm a super duper ultra mega in love with neutral color eye shadow palettes :p

- Very pigmented

-Easy to blend and doesn't crease, though the UDPP really makes a difference with staying power

-Comes with a travel size UD Primer Potion and brush (which I personally doesn't love nor hate, just okay)

-I love the packaging

(The last 2 pros mentioned are the reasons why I prefer this over Naked 2. I chose to have a travel size UDPP than a Lip Junkie Lipgloss in Naked which I already have. I also prefer a velvet-type of packaging than a metal, somewhat pencil case looking packaging.)

*Cons:

-I wish for Blackout instead of Creep
-Larger mirror is more appreciated (but anyway I have to consider the materials used for packaging though)

-I prefer a double-ended eye pencil than a karma brush (which works better as a concealer brush or an eye primer brush instead of eyehading brush) :p
-Isn't available locally.

*Little sharing:

-If you have someone who can purchase you from Sephora then it would be better since it often comes with free gifts unlike the local random Philippine online shops which sells in a higher price plus shipping fee and without any freebie.

-It would be better to buy from legit stores. Beware of fakes! See this POST.

OVERALL:

I love this palette. Great for everyday look! I'll find time to make tutorials with this foooosure. I already have some ideas :p
